One meaning is to physically walk through the manufacturing process from beginning to end, following the path of the raw materials & components. "Carryover parts" are components that are re-used on subsequent models years. For example, the alternator for the 2003 model is the same as used on the 2002 model car. "Spot buy" is when you buy a commodity on the open market on a one-time basis, paying the market price; contrasted to a long term contract with a distributor or manufacture for more than 1 shipment over an extended period of time. "Blanket" may refer to a type of buying arrangement or Purchase Order for a generic class of goods of unspecified quantity, spec, model, & delivery date. The specific purchases would be defined along the way as needed. The others I am unsure of Glenn
